Nepali women demand cabinet to allocate them 50 pct seats  KATHMANDU, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Nepal's women rights activists Wednesday organized a rally in the capital demanding 13 seats out of 26 Constituent Assembly members to be nominated by the cabinet.  "We are meeting leaders of different political parties to ensure at least half the seats to women because there is no provision in the interim constitution for inclusion of women nominees among 26 CA members to be appointed by the cabinet," said Sarada Pokhrel of Women's Security Pressure Group who was in the rally.

Excerpt from report by privately-owned Tajik news agency Asia- Plus Dushanbe, 15 May: Today the special rapporteur of the UN Human Rights Council on violence against women[, its causes and consequences], Professor Yakin Erturk, arrived in the Tajik capital at the invitation of the country's government. A source in the country's Foreign Ministry told Asia-Plus that she would hold a number of meetings with representatives of women's NGOs of Tajikistan today. 

Theratechnologies Explores Tesamorelin in Growth Hormone Deficient Abdominal Obesity

Theratechnologies (TSX: TH) announced today a strategic agreement with both the Massachusetts General Hospital ("MGH") and Dr. Steven Grinspoon to explore the use of tesamorelin in relative growth hormone deficient abdominally obese (GHDAO) subjects.  MGH, under the direction of Dr. Grinspoon, will sponsor and conduct a clinical trial with tesamorelin in subjects that have excess visceral adipose tissue (VAT) with a moderate growth hormone deficiency and who are abdominally obese.  Dr. Grinspoon, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Director of the MGH Program in Nutritional Metabolism, and Lead Investigator for a number of previous trials involving tesamorelin, has obtained an Investigators' Investigational New Drug for this study with the US Food and Drug Administration and was awarded a grant by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to conduct the study.

KANSAS CITY - Men might be from Mars and women from Venus when it comes to relationships, but how about when it comes to entrepreneurship? A recent report by the U.S. Small Business Administration looked at 685 businesses that started between 1998 and 1999.  Although the study showed more similarities than differences between men and women, it indicated that women-owned businesses on average were lagging male-owned businesses on such factors as annual sales, employment growth, income and venture survival.
